Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a treatment cost?
A new patient intake appointment is $200. Appointment fees are $88-$90. “Double” appointments, or appointments in which two different treatments are scheduled at the same time, are the combined price of those individual treatments.
Do you accept insurance?
We are out-of-network providers for all insurance companies. If you would like, we are happy to provide you with a receipt for your visit that you may submit to your insurance company. Your insurance company will reimburse you directly.
How long are the appointments?
The initial appointment is around an hour in length, and typically includes the first treatment. At subsequent appointments, you are with the doctor for about 15 minutes for allergy clearings and 30 minutes for chiropractic visits.
I'm a few months pregnant and can't lie on my stomach. How will you treat me?
We have pregnancy support pillows just for you, and most women who are nine months pregnant can lie face down without a problem. Many pregnant women look forward to spending time face down since it has been so long since they could lie that way, but we can modify the treatment position if you are uncomfortable in that posture.
How many allergy treatments will I need before my allergy is eliminated?
Since every person's biochemistry is different, is it impossible to say how many clearings it will take for your individual allergy to be eliminated. All patients must be cleared of the 15 Basic allergens to which they are reacting, determined by kinesiological muscle testing, before they can move on to any other allergens. The 15 Basics include the foods, vitamins, and minerals that exist in most foods and are important in many biological processes. Clearing these items creates a strong cellular foundation upon which to build a healthier system when clearing additional allergens.
I have never had any symptoms when being exposed to some of these allergens, but you're telling me that I'm allergic to them. How is that possible?
We use the term "allergy" to mean something different than what you're probably used to. In our office, an allergy does not necessarily mean that exposure to the allergen results in an overt symptom, such as runny nose, itchy eyes, and sneezing. Let's say, for example, that your muscle test indicates that you have a sensitivity to calcium. This may mean that every time you are exposed to calcium, your body doesn't utilize it as effectively or efficiently as it could. Muscle testing may reveal sensitivities to items that are not yet causing noticeable symptoms.
What is an allergy clearing?
An allergy clearing is a spinal treatment following a multi-step protocol to help patients become less reactive to irritants in their diet and environment. The desensitization process utilizes chiropractic principles and acupressure techniques. The specific procedure and mechanism of action are explained in detail during the new patient intake appointment.
How is Reiki used in my treatments?
When combined with other complimentary disciplines, Reiki may work to supplement and enhance the results from other treatments. The doctor may utilize this form of energy work in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments and/or acupuncture.
What is homeopathy and how will I be treated using it?
Practiced for over 200 years, homeopathy is a form of alternative medicine that treats a disease with heavily diluted preparations created from substances that would ordinarily cause effects similar to the disease's symptoms.
What is Applied Kinesiology?
Applied Kinesiology is a chiropractic diagnostic method that evaluates structural, chemical, and mental aspects of health using manual muscle testing alongside conventional diagnostic methods. Dr. Rebecca and Dr. Stefanie uses this integrated, interdisciplinary approach to health care to gather feedback on the functional status of the patient's body. Muscle testing is based on the viscerosomatic relationship, which states that every organ dysfunction is accompanied by a weakness in a specific corresponding muscle. The test is conducted by having the patient resist using the target muscle or muscle group while the doctor applies force. A smooth response is referred to as a "strong muscle" and a response that was not appropriate is called a "weak response." This is not a raw test of strength, but rather a subjective evaluation of tension in the muscle and smoothness of response, taken to be indicative of stresses and imbalances in the body. A weak muscle test is equated to dysfunction and chemical or structural imbalance or mental stress, indicative of a body dissatisfied with suboptimal functioning.
